Services will be Wednesday at 2 in Hope Lutheran Church for Ralph E. Raasakka, who died Saturday in the Fort Harrison Hospital.
The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will accord graveside honors at Mount Olivet Cemetery, at Anaconda, MT.
Freinds may call Tuesday afternoon at Longfellow Finnegan Funeral Home.
Mr. Raasakka was born Dec. 22, 1919, in Rolla, N.D., to Matti and Ina E lna Neva Raasakka.
He attended North Dakota schools before moving to Montana.
He was a smelterman for the Anaconda Minerals Co., for 27 years.
He joined the Army on March 27, 1942, at Fort Snelling, MN., and was discharged on Jan. 21, 1946, at Camp McCoy, WS.
He was a Private First Class with Battery G of Harbor Defense.
He and Violet Wicks were married Dec. 9, 1949, in Rolla, N.D.
He belonged to the Hope Lutheran Church in Anaconda.
He enjoyed playing cards with his children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Alfred; sister, Rose Kaleva; and two sons, David and Jerry.
Survivors include his wife, Violet; sons, Darryl and Gary Raasakka;
daughter -in-law Kim Raasakka all of Opportunity, MT.; daughters and sos-in-law, Cheryl Hanson of Lymno, WY., Sandy and Ron Knutson and Diane and Don Watson; six grand-children, Dennis and Andrew Hanson, Melissa and Jeremy Raasakka, Devin Watson and Jennifer Knutson, all of Opportunity; six brothers, Wesley, Edward, Edwin, George and Wayne
