HOLST, John Passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Bonnie Brae Nursing Home, Tavistock. He was formerly of New Dundee. John was born 83 years ago in Wilmot Township and was the son of the late Jacob and Annie (Holtzworth) Holst. Beloved husband of the late Beatrice (Roth) Holst who predeceased him October 26, 2003. Loving father of John Dwight Holst of Kitchener, Philip Holst and Donna Flanagan of R.R. # 3 Woodstock, Dianne Ritz of Guelph, Myron and Christine Holst of Fergus, Charlotte and Richard Cudney of New Dundee, Steven and Doris Holst of Petersburg, Mark and Val Holst, Karen Horst and partner Freeman Purvis, Della Ferguson all of Kitchener. Sadly missed by his 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Remembered by his sister Viola Holst of Waterloo and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Ellen Holst, Joanna Ropp, Grace Holst, Mae Holst all of New Hamburg, Edith Holst of Kitchener, Susan Holst of Waterloo, Wesley Sauder of St. Jacobs, Mildred Hauder of Nebraska, Pastor Arthur and Marjorie Roth of Colorado, Vernon and Betty Roth of Breslau and Clare Roth of Petersburg. John was predeceased by his sisters Irene, Margaret Holst in infancy, Luella Sauder, brothers Albert, Harvey, Delton, George, Clarence, Walter, sister-in-law Martha and Jack Miller and brother-in-law Lawrence Hauder. John was a member of Pioneer Park Christian Fellowship, Kitchener. He was a former member of the New Dundee Board of Trade and had attended Wilmot Centre Seniors. He retired from the New Dundee Creamery after 27 years of service. John maintained and cared for, like they were his own; New Dundee Union Cemetery, Blenheim Mennonite Cemetery and Pioneer Park (Weber's Cemetery). Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. and again Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, New Dundee with Pastor Graham Burkhart officiating. Interment to follow in New Dundee Union Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to MCC (Child Sponsor, MCC (Relief) or charity of one's choice.
