HOLST, Clarence - Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at K-W Health Centre of the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, Clarence Holst, of RR1, St. Agatha. He was born 78 years ago on June 20, 1927 in Wilmot Township, a son of the late Jacob and Annie (Holtzworth) Holst. Clarence was a member of St. Agatha Mennonite Church where he had been the cemetery caretaker for many years. He farmed at RR1, St. Agatha for over 50 years, was a member of the Happy Farmers Harmonica Band and enjoyed woodworking, planting trees and spending time with his grandchildren. Beloved husband of Mae Victoria (Zehr) Holst who he married October 6, 1951. Loving father of Yvonne and Ivan Anthony, Richard and Brenda Holst, all of Kitchener, Donell and Judy Holst of New Hamburg, Brian Holst and Iris McNab of Gang Ranch, B.C., Dennis and Linda Holst of RR1, Tavistock, Glenn and Debbie Holst of Chesley Lake, Rosemary and David Wenger of Kitchener and Michael and Margaret Holst of RR3, Wellesley. Loving grandpa of 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Viola Holst of Waterloo, Harvey and Edith Holst of Kitchener, George and Grace Holst of New Hamburg, Luella and Wesley Sauder of St. Jacobs, John Holst of New Dundee, Ellen Holst of New Hamburg, Susan Holst of Waterloo, Joanna Ropp of Tavistock. Also remembered by mother-in-law Sarah Zehr of New Hamburg, John and Romani Rodrigo and family of Waterloo and many nieces, nephews and friends. Clarence was predeceased by sisters Margaret and Irene, by brothers Walter, Delton and Albert, by sister-in-law Beatrice Holst, brother-in-law Alfred Ropp and father-in-law Eli Zehr. Friends and relatives may call at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and again Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Agatha Mennonite Church with Pastor Doug Snyder officiating. Burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
