Funeral services were held Friday morning in the Sacred Heart church in Adams for Joe F. Mullenbach, well known resident of that village. Burial was in the St. John's church cemetery in Johnsburg.

Mr. Mullenbach had been ill for a few weeks at his home and died early Wednesday morning.

Deceased was a native of Germany born in Boss, March 19, 1868. When he was six months old the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chrysant Mullenbach came to this country. They settled near Johnsburg and here he grew up. June 10, 1897, he was married to Barbara Fass at Stacyville. They started housekeeping on a farm near Johnsburg which was thehome until in July of 1925. They retired and moved to Adams which was the home since. He was a member of St. John's Mens Society.

Mr. Mullenbach is survived by his wife and three children, John of Johnsburg; Lorena, at home and Mrs. Edward Merten of Meyer, Iowa; his mother, Mrs. Chrysant Mullenbach, age 99 years; four sisters and three brothers; Mrs. Catherine Effinger of Milwaukee, Wis., who arrived in Adams before his death; Mrs. John Heimer, Jr., and Mrs. Gertrude Karst of Johnsburg; Mrs. John M. Bissen of Adams, John C. and Matt C. Mullenbach of Johnsburg and Nick Mullenbach of Hoven, S.D., and several grandchildren. Two brothers, Stephan and Peter and one sister, Mrs. John S. Freund, preceded him in death.
