Bryant, IL - Carol R. Beard, age 71, of 200 W. Main St. died at 5:50 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2007, in Cuba.

She was born May 23, 1935, in Marietta, the daughter of James Albert and Clara Rose (Goldsmith) Walker. She married Harry L. Beard on Dec. 25, 1951, in Smithfield. He died Oct. 29, 1977.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Lynn Vacca; one brother, Ethan Walker; and two sisters, Jennine Worthington and Marilyn Joy Walker.

Surviving are five children, Michael (Connie) Beard of Lewistown, Greg Beard of Bryant, Cynthia Beard of Bryant, Bradley (Stacy) Beard of Lewistown and Dana (Jeffrey) Hitchcock of Bryant; four brothers, David (Gladys) Walker of Cuba, Jim Walker of Galesburg, Gerald (Janet) Walker of Marietta and Brian Walker of Bryant; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and a retired seamstress from Canton Manufacturing. She was of Christian faith.

Funeral services will be held at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba.

Burial will be at Marietta Cemetery in Marietta.
