Mathias Moser died at 12:48 o'clock this afternoon at the family residence, 1903 Jackson street, of a complication of diseases. His health had been impaired for three years and his condition became serious on Sunday. He was born in Obeinhein Wurtemberg, Germany, July 5, 1862. He came to the United States in 1881 and located in this city. For many years he was employed by the Henry Taylor Lumber company; and was an expert inspector of lumber. He was last employed by the Frey Brothers Lumber company. Mr Moser was an earnest member of St Boniface church and was also a member of the St Boniface and St Joseph societies. Deceased was also secretary of the Dentacher Verein. Mr Moser was a man of sterling character and died rich in the esteem of all who knew him. He was greatly devoted to his family and was a splendid citizen. He had many friends who will learn of his death with sorrow. Besides the widow he is survived by the following children: Mary, Anna, Lena, Frank, Elizabeth, Joseph, Rose and Louisa Moser, all of this city. He also leaves one sister, who resides in Germany. The funeral will be held from St Boniface church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon with interment in St Boniface cemetery, friends are requested to omit flowers.
While I have been unable to locate the names of his parents who were probably born in Germany, I have been able to locate 2 of his brothers. Family letters and communications have revealed that William Moser #15490361 and Thomas Moser #16571941 are Matt's brothers. I am not able to enter this information using their parents so I have placed it here.
