On Mar. 18, 1901 he married Viva Charlotte Howery (Dec. 31, 1882 Ingham Co. MI – Feb. 25, 1918) They are buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason.
George was a very good person. He loved his horses. He didn't like to see the tractor replace his horses. After he quit farming he got a camping trailer and enjoyed going to the lake to stay and fish.
George lived on the corner of Barnes Rd. & Meridian. Home still stands in 2008.
George Stid, 73, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Matteson, at 2135 Meridian Road, Thursday, 3-29.
Funeral service & burial at Maple Grove Cemetery. Mr. Stid was the son of Van Ranslear & Laura Stid. He is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Elzina Rose of Jackson and Mrs. Mary Matteson with whom he resided, and 10 grandchildren.
