Betty Hogan, 72, of 937 Flat Hollow Marina Road, Speedwell, Tenn., passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999 at the LaFollette Medical Center. She was a member of the First Church of God in Franklin for more than 30 years and also attended the Yankee Road and Meadowlawn churches in Middletown; she had also joined the Well Springs Methodist Church. She was a loving wife for 51 and a half years, a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved to spend time with her family. She was a homemaker and had been a beautician for 15 years. She is survived by her husband, Sanford Hogan; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Barbara Hogan, of Holyoke, Mass.; daughters and sons-in-law, Melody and Jim Smith, of LaFollette, Tenn., and Belinda and David Smith, of Monroe; a sister, Edith Heaney, of California; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Cuba Sexton Powers.
