Joseph Francis Allen, 77, of Canandaigua, NY, and formerly of Warren, Pa. died Tuesday evening, July 26, 2005 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Canandaigua, N.Y. after an extended illness. He was born in Warren, Pa. on April 3, 1928 to the late John James and Marie Bertha Nitche Allen, Sr. He was a graduate of Warren High School Class of 1945. He was employed as an electrical apprentice with the Northwest Electric Company of Erie, Pa. He had served as a private second class with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was wounded in action. He is survived by two brothers, Edward A. Allen and David J. Allen of Warren, Pa.; a sister, Mary T. Eggleston of Spokane, Washington. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John J. Allen, Jr. who was killed in action in Italy during WWII. His funeral service was conducted at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. 304 East Street, Warren, Pa. on Saturday, July 30, at 10 a.m. with Msgr. John Lucas, Pastor of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, officiating. Interment is at the St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery.
