  Wilbur J. Bange, 82, of East Alton, died today, Dec. 3, 1980, at 4 A.M. in St. Joseph's Hospital, Highland. He had been a patient at the hospital for the past 12 days.
  He was born Sept. 16, 1898, in Edwardsville, a son of the late Bernard and Elizabeth Wieneke Bange.
  He was married to Ann Hambleton, who preceded him in death. He later married Ellis LeFaivre in Grafton. She preceded him in death on June 18, 1969.
  Mr. Bange is survived by sons, Wilbur S. Bange of Edwardsville and Joseph V. Bange of Dallas, Texas; a stepson, Hudson LeFaivre of Belleville; a daughter, Dorothy Grizzle of Bethalto; a stepdaughter, Virginia Greeman of University City, Mo.; a brother, Benjamin Bange of Clearwater, Fla.; sisters, Agnes Donaldson, Mrs. Theodore (Rose) Eilers and Leona Bange, all of Edwardsville, and Irene Williams of Belleville, and four grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by two sons and two brothers.
  Mr. Bange was a contractor and carpenter in the Wood River area for many years until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of Carpenters' Local No. 1808 of Granite City, the Eagles Lodge R.O.E. No. 2773 of Wood River and St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Wood River.
  Friends may call from 4 to 9 P.M. Friday at the Lesley Marks Funeral Home.
  Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Meyers, pastor of St. Boniface Catholic Church, will officiate.
  Burial will be in Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton.
