Agnes Donaldson
Agnes M. Donaldson, age 101, of Edwardsville, died at 9:25 A.M. on Thursday, April 11, 2001, at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville.
She was born on Jan. 26, 1901, in Edwardsville, the daughter of the late Bernard and Elizabeth Wieneke Bange.
She married Dewey Donaldson on Dec. 20, 1939. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1975.
She is survived by a step-daughter: Merle Holshouser of Edwardsville; a sister: Leona Bange of Edwardsville; 15 step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a nephew: Alvin "Bing" Bange, Jr. of Edwardsville; and four nieces: Dorothy Grizzle of Alton, Betty Weiland of Warrenton, Mo., Bernice Hornbeck of Troy, Mo., JoAnn Geiger of Highland and Kathy May of Louisville, Ky.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a step-son: Lawrence Donaldson; four brothers: Wilbur, Alvin, Ben, and Raymond Bange; two sisters: Rose Eilers and Irene Williams; and three nephews: Wilbur "Buster" Bange, Jr., Joseph Bange, and Richard Williams.
Mrs. Donaldson was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church. Other memberships included the Pride of the Green Ladies Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union Lodge 932; Women of the Moose Chapter 82; and was an active volunteer for her organizations.
Visitation will be from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Sunday, April 14, at Saksa Mateer Funeral Home in Edwardsville.
Funeral services will begin at 10 A.M. on Monday, April 15, at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Fr. John Corredato officiating.
Interment will be at St. Boniface Cemetery in Edwardsville.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Boniface Church Building Fund, Moose Kitchen Fund of Masses.
