Ella was the seventh child born to Conrad Frederickson and Clara Petersen. She was small for her age, and her sister Gladys called her a "cute little wart" with light red hair.
She was only 13 1/2 years old when she passed away. She was getting a chance to graduate from the 8th grade on May 11, 1928, and that was a big occasion back then. Ma had told her she could go to Tremonton and get her hair done especially for that occasion. While she was getting her hair fixed, she became sick to her stomach. Not wanting to miss the graduation, she did not tell anyone. She suffered through her hair styling and again through her graduation. When she finally told her parents, it was too late. She died of a ruptured appendix four days later at the Garland Hospital at 6:00 a.m. on May 15, 1928.
