Vernon Edward Brady, age 72, of E. Academy Street, Asheboro died Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro.
Mr. Brady was born June 30, 1938 the son of Homer and Lucy Gatlin Brady.
Vernon was a native of Randolph County and a retired car salesman with Mid-State Toyota of Asheboro. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church and loved old cars.
He is survived by: daughter and her husband, Kathy and Jerry Kiser of Asheboro, NC; daughter: Sherry Simmons of Asheboro, NC ; former wife: Ruby Brady of Asheboro, NC; granddaughter: Lane Richardson of Ramseur, NC; grandson: Jeff Simmons of Asheboro, NC; granddaughter: Jill Simmons of Asheboro, NC; grandson: Zack Kiser of Asheboro, NC; great grandchild: Sierra Simmons; great grandchild: Logan Richardson; seven brothers: Odell Brady of Ramseur, NC, Butch Brady of Asheboro, NC, Raeford Brady of Asheboro, NC, Jesse (Bub) Brady of Ramseur, NC, Ronnie Brady of Bennett, NC, Jerry Brady of Seagrove, NC, Kenny Brady of Ramseur, NC; four sisters: Linda Wright of Asheboro, NC, Diane Pierce of Seagrove, NC, Grace Ritter of Asheboro, NC, and Kaye Durham of Asheboro, NC.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of his daughter Kathy 951 Hanner Hill Road, Asheboro. The funeral will be Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, 5946 Pleasant Grove Church Rd., Bennett with Rev. Ralph Voncannon and Rev Ken Huggins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
