East Prairie - Codie Leon Allen, 44 years old, of East Prairie died from burns received from his clothing catching fire at a friend's house Friday.
He was born June 6, 1930, in Rector, Ark. but was a resident of Mississippi County for 37 years.
Surviving is a son, Dennis Leon Allan; brother, Toll Allen; sister, Mrs. Myrl Brandon, Mrs. Eva Mitchell, Mrs. Geneva Mitchell, Mrs. Earline Gaddy and Mrs. Ailine Garrett; and one grandchild.
Funeral service will be held Sunday at the Shelby Funeral Home here. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
