Opal's stone states maiden name to be Childress and her obit states it to be Childers.
East Prairie - An East Prairie resident, Mrs. Davis Allen, 71 years old, died Tuesday in a hospital in Cairo, Ill.
Mrs. Allen was born in Murray Ky., Sept. 22, 1897.
The former Miss Opal Mae Childers, she was married to Mr. Allen Jan. 3, 1916. He survives.
Also surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Murl Brannon, Mrs. Aline Garrett, Mrs. Earline Gaddy, Mrs. Mrs. Eva Mitchell and Mrs. Geneva Mitchell; two sons, Toll Allen and Leon Allen; four sisters, Mrs. Lela Tripp, Mrs. Mary Hedge, Mrs. Carneaz Kuthner and Mrs. Murrell Davidson; five brothers, Con Childers, Ervin G. Childers, Lonnie Childers, Ed Childers and James Childers; 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mrs Allen had been a resident of Mississippi County for 31 years and was a member of the East Prairie Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Shelby Funeral Home.
