"Oma Winton, the eleven year old daughter of A. T. Winton, died Thursday, June 12, 1924, at the family home in the Independence community west of Waurika (Oklahoma), from measles and pneumonia. Oma was the eldest child of Mr. Winton and she had, since the death of her mother, two years ago, been a little mother to her three younger sisters and one brother. She was a bright and loving child and her death has caused great sorrow to the father and his family of little ones, who had learned to depend on Oma so much. She was a loving and dutiful child.
Funeral services were conducted in the home by the Pastor of the Christian Church of Waurika after which the remains were brought to Ryan for interment. Deceased is survived by a father, three sisters and one brother, who have the sympathy of friends in the loss of their loved one."
