ELIZABETH NEWBERRY, 70, longtime resident of Hastings, died Thursday, May 29, 1986, in a Wichita Falls, Texas hospital following an extended illness.
Services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday in the Waurika Church of Christ, with Bob Harrison, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Hastings Cemetery under the direction of Willis C. Worley and Sons Funeral Home of Waurika.
Elizabeth Winton was born on 23 Oct 1915 in Bowie, Texas. She came to Oklahoma in 1919 with her parents who settled in the Riverview community southwest of Waurika.
She married E. A. Newberry on 9 Aug 1936 in Waurika. The couple made their home on a farm near Hastings, moving into town in 1974, after his retirement. She was a member of the Ferguson EH group and the Hastings Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Ronald K. of Duncan and Kenneth of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Lois Kafer of Waurika and Cleo LaPlante and Alice Holt of Borger, Texas; a half-brother, Loyd Winton of Duncan; and four grandsons.
