Funeral Wednesday for A.M. Beck, long-time Remsen businessman

A. M. (Ott) Beck, 92, lifelong Remsen resident and businessman, died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, June 17, 1984, of an apparent heart attack at the home of son Harry Beck in Granville.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, at St. Mary's Catholic Church here. Rev. LeRoy Seuntjens and Rev. Francis Nemmers officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under direction of the Fisch Funeral Home.

Mr. Beck was born August 7, 1891, at Remsen, the son of John P. and Susan (Hoffman) Beck.

He was reared and educated at Remsen and attended St. Mary's Catholic School here. He graduated from St. John's University at Collegeville, Minn. He then entered employment with his parents in the Beck Store at Remsen.

His marriage to Regina Wenner took place June 30, 1915.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
