Danny Rhodes, 71, of Amarillo died Thursday, July 11, 2013.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Jerry Davey officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.

Danny was born Jan. 13, 1942, in Claremore, Okla., to Archie and Lorene Rhodes. He was raised in Fritch and graduated from Phillips High School in 1962. Danny served in the Marines from 1963 to 1967.

After being honorably discharged, he worked for Natural Gas Pipe Line for 14 years before becoming a truck driver and retired in 2004.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Rhodes, in 2007; a son, Steven Rhodes, in 2012; and his parents.

Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Mongold of Enid, Okla.; two brothers, Archie Rhodes Jr of Hooker, Okla., and Jimmy Rhodes of Pampa; two sisters, Judy Douglas of Amarillo and Sheryl Rhodes of Dalhart; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his caregiver, Brenda Mongold.
