Gale A. Atkins, 72, died Thurs., Mar. 13, 1986 in Smyth County Community Hospital.
He was retired from the Virginia ABC Board, was a Past Master of the Marion Lodge 31 A.F. & A.M. and was a Past Patron of the Marion Chapter 72 Order of the Eastern Star.
He is survived by his wife, Marie T. Atkins of Marion; three sons, Albert G. Atkins of Mount Airy, N.C., and Stephen G. Atkins and Gale Atkins III, both of Marion; one sister, Mrs. Alton (Mildred) French of Marion; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Rev. Neville Mozingo and the Rev. Charles R. Dilks officiating. Burial followed in the Rose Lawn Cemetery. Masonic rites were held at the graveside by Marion Lodge 31 A.F. & A.M.
