Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Ferguson McIntire, 94, reported to have been the first white woman to reside at Polson, were held Wednesday. She arrived in Kalispell from her native California in 1891 on the first caboose of the Great Northern Railway. She and her late husband, James, started a furniture store at Demersville, now the site of Kalispell. they moved to Polson May 25, 1906.
