Jesse Abney, well known Marion barber died at 10:30 am Monday, January 28, 1929 at his home at 511 S. Hill Street. The deceased was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. He leaves a widow and two daughters, Mrs. Don Hartley and Mrs. Vertie Robinson whose husband Fate Robinson died last week. Both live here.
Mr. Abney had suffered from ill health for many years which had forced him to abandon his trade of barber. He became seriously ill only Friday night when he was attacked by influenza which was too much for his weakened condition. Funeral services at the home on Tuesday and burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
