Abraham Andrew, a pioneer resident of this county since 1850, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. Clark, 748 North Eighth Street, last night, aged 87 years. Death was due to old age.
He is survived by four children, who are Mrs. Job Clark of this city, Mrs. William Lintner and Dale Andrews of Brillion and W. H. Andrews of Denver, Colorado.
Mr. Andrews was born in Manchester, England, and came to this country in 1839 locating in Rhode Island. He came to Wisconsin in 1850 and was chairman of the town of Kossuth and gave the name to the township. Later he moved to Brillion where he had resided since, coming to this city two months ago. Mr. Andrews was for four years the lighthouse tender at this port.
The funeral will be held at the late home of the deceased on Thursday. Interment will be in Brillion. The funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. E. C. Potter. Manitowoc Tribune, Dec. 28.
The above announcement will be read with regret by many people in this county who knew Mr. Andrews for years. He was a man of novel character and was respected by all.
