Shirley E. McMillan, 81 of Marshfield died on Sunday afternoon, May 4, 2008 at the Golden Living Center Three Oaks in Marshfield.
Memorial services will be 11am Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Rembs Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Lafferty.
Family will receive relatives and friends from 10am Thursday until time of the services at the funeral home.
Shirley was born on May 10, 1926 in Greensboro, NC to James and Anne (Land) Ellis. She graduated from Greensboro High School. She was united in marriage to Charles "Mac"C. McMillan III on October 20, 1945 in Greensboro. He died on March 16, 1994. They moved to Marshfield in 1958 where she worked as an accountant. From 1979-89, Mac and Shirley lived in Long Beach, NC where Shirley worked as a realtor. In 1990, Mac and Shirley moved back to Marshfield. She enjoyed antiques, reading and going to garage sales.
Shirley was a member of Alliance Missionary Church in Marshfield.
Shirley is survived by two daughters, Pamela (Gary) Rappe and Kimberly (Karl) Baltus both of Marshfield; one son Stephen McMillan of Concord, NC; two granddaughters, Stephanie McMillan and Keila Kelly both of Concord, NC; three grandsons, Jason (Kari) Rappe of Medford, Steven Rappe of St. Paul and Shane McMillan of Concord, NC; one great granddaughter Tana Rappe of Medford.
She is further survived by two brothers Dan (Lana) Ellis of Marshfield and James (Vail) Ellis of Stoney Creek, NC and two sisters Desiree Ellis of Marshfield and Faye Briggs of Glendora, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, sister Phoebe Kult and a brother Don Ellis.
