Vesta Robinson Delaney
Feb. 16, 1918 - June 25, 2013

Vesta Teal Robinson Delaney, 95, died June 25 in Spokane, Wash.

She was born in Falls City to W.A. "Jake" and Belle Wolf Teal.

She was proud to be an Oregonian and lived most of her life in Falls City until 1963, when she moved to Salem. In 2008 she moved to Spokane to be near her daughter.

Vesta was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Woodrow Robinson, in 1962. Their infant son, Gary Allen, died in 1946. She married Bob Delaney in 1978 and he died in 2002.

Vesta lived a full and active life. She was a loving wife, terrific mom and granny, a caring homemaker, and an excellent cook and gardener. She created a welcoming home where family and friends often gathered.

Being "mom" and "granny" were important roles for her and she filled those roles to the fullest with love and care.

She loved camping, spending time on the Oregon Coast, and fishing and hunting. Vesta often caught the biggest fish on the boat or bagged the biggest deer in the hunting party.

She worked many years at Oregon State Hospital, serving in the capacity of charge aid.

Vesta was an active member of Oak Park Community Church of God in Salem, where she served in many capacities until her move to Spokane.

Survivors include her son, Wendall Robinson (Susan) of Redmond; daughter, Corene McMorris (Vern White) of Spokane; sister, Erma Ferguson of Falls City; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and extended family.

Graveside service was Saturday at Dallas Cemetery. It was followed by a gathering of family and friends at Murphy's Grill in Dallas.

Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center handled arrangements. To send an online condolence: www.dallastribute.com.
