A funeral for Peter Rau, 90, of Rt2, Minatare, who died Thursday in the Scottsbluff hospital was held in Zion Evangelical Church at Scottsbluff with the Rev. Nevin A. Haines officiating.
He was born May 31, 1889, at New Norka, Russia. At 17, he came to the United States to Galveston, Texas. He lived in Kansas and Colorado before moving to the Valley in 1916.
He had lived in the Valley for more than 63 years and on his farm northwest of Minatare for the past 28 years.
Survivors include 4 daughters; 3 sons, 5 stepsons; 1 stepdaughter, 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
