SPOUSE: Jim married Nellie Skiles on June 27, 1925 in Manila, Philippines. Nellie was born Aug. 25, 1904 and died May 27, 1981 at age 76. She was the daughter of Arthur Franklin Skiles (1875-1963 age 87) and Toribia de la Cruz (1883-1949 age 66).

Jim and Nell survived the Japanese Occupation of the Philippines during WW II. In October 1945 (shortly after the end of the war), Nell and her son and daughter were repatriated to the United States aboard the Klip Fontein, a troop transport ship. They disembarked in Seattle, WA and were bussed down the Pacific Ocean coast to Long Beach, CA. Her husband Jim followed them soon afterwards. They remained in the Long Beach area until Jim's death in 1963.
Jim and Nell celebrated their 37th Wedding Anniversary the summer before his death. They are buried together at Sunnyside Memorial Park in Long Beach, CA (aka: Forest Lawn Memorial Park - Long Beach).
