Eara Alliene (Bitty)Goforth age 77 was born on November 18,1916 to Jesse Aaron Westmoreland and Laura Mae Cagle Westmoreland at home in Gorman, Texas. She was the third child of eight living children. One died at birth. She graduated from Gorman High School in 1936. While in High School she was a cheerlearder for the Gorman Panthers. On Sepmeber 2,1936 she married Odis Alvin Goforth in the home of J.T. Chapman. Her and her husband made their home in Desdemona (Hog Town), Texas until after WWII. Bitty and Odessa moved to Notress, Texas. They had a daughter Daphine and all lived in Notrees until 1956 when they moved to Odessa, Texas. While in Notrees Bitty worked at the Cap Rock Cafe as a waitress. After moving to Odessa she worked for Petty's and for Tommy Dilley as a cashier and later she worked for Piggy Wiggly until her retirement. Eara Alliene (Bitty) Westmoreland Goforth passed away at her home with her daughter at her side June 11, 1994. Graveside services (as she requested) was on June 19,1994 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Dr. Jimmy Brasswell oficiated the services. Bitty was survived by her daughter Daphine Goforth Bailey and one grandson Stacy Todd Bailey both of Odessa, Texas. Four sisters Gracie Merele Westmoreland Jenkins of Rising Star, Altha Mae Westmoreland Locke of Odessa, Texas, Billie Jene Westmoreland Rudd of New Home, Texas, Margaret Nadine Westmoreand Bartee of Andrews, Texas and one brother Euel Harland (Skin) Westmoreland of DeLeon, Texas. She was preceded in death by one grandson Tracy Scott Bailey, her husband Odis Alvin Goforth and her parents Jesse and Laura Cagle Westmoreland and two brothers Albert Andrew Westmoreland and Ulyss Edward (Fat) Westmoreland.
