Bettie L. Scott, 75, of 170 Taft Drive, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at the King's Daughters' Hospital.

She was born Dec. 12, 1926, in Madison, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Means Hall. She was employed for several years at Paris Style women's clothing store, and also at the Madison-Jefferson County Public Library. She was a member of the North Madison Christian Church; the Madison Arts Club; the Indiana Poetry Club; the Republican Women's Club of Jefferson County; the Indiana Arts Council; the Madison Music Club; and Beta Sigma Psi sorority.

Surviving are one daughter, Carol M. Pendleton of Columbus; three sons, Dennis A. Scott and Ronald C. Scott, both of Madison, and Marc Stephen Scott of Dupont; one half sister, Mary Swafford of Madison; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frederick Scott Jr., in 1990; one son, Phillip A. Scott, in 1971; and one half sister, Louise Watson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Vail-Holt Funeral Home Madison Chapel, with burial in Springdale Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Cards will be available at the funeral home.
