The funeral of Mrs. Hiley Campbell, widow of the late George Campbell, who died early Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Colell [sic], of Horseheads, was attended at the M. E. church on Sunday at 2 p.m., Rev. Rice, of Montour Falls, officiating. Interment in Laurel Hill cemetery. The deceased died of typhoid pneumonia at the advanced age of nearly 84 years. She is survived by three sons, John and Calvin, of Odessa, Samuel, of Michigan, and one daughter, Mrs. Colell [sic], of Horseheads. Aunt Hiley had long lived alone on the creek road near the steam mill school house until last winter, when she was induced to go and live with her daughter. She was widely known as a devoted and self-sacrificing wife and mother, whom to know was to love and respect. The children and friends can truly cherish the memory of her life as a volume replete with acts of kindness, love and charity. She was a member of the Episcopal church.
