"The Reed S. Kilgore family owned adjoining land and the Kilgore home is now the cemetery sexton's office; the family sold a portion of their land to the City in 1946. In 1951 Ella M. Kilgore sold an additional 5 acres of land to William L. and Alice Curd McQuown, who in turn sold the land to the City in 1952 to be incorporated into the cemetery."
