Mr. Ammons was born in Abbeville, S.C. on Nov. 16, 1877. A number of years ago he came to Mississippi and opened Swift & Company's office in Greenville. He moved to Beulah in 1914 and for the past 17 years has been cashier of the Bank of Beulah. He was a Mason and a member of the Baptist Church.
In 1915 he was mar[r]ied to Alberta Nichols [sic Nicols] of Tallulah, La., who survives him. In addition he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Gerald Shelby of Shrewsbury, Mass.; a son, Robert Lee, Jr.; three little girls, Ophelia, Alberta and Betty Jane, and an infant son, George.
