Services celebrating the life of Robert Lee Ammons will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2010, in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home. Officiating will be Reverend Mark Sutton.

Bob was born on October 16, 1918 and passed away on February 15, 2010.

Joe was very proud of his service with the 7th Army during WWII here and abroad. He was the Manager of the Central Storage and Moving on Southern Avenue for years. He was a member of the SAR, Shriner's and President of Shreveport Duplicate Bridge Assoc. and board member for many years.

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Gwen Hand Ammons.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Vy Ammons; step-children, Jo Ann Stampley of Nashville, TN, Mike Word and wife, Nancy Nations of Springhill, LA, Marijan E. Word and fiancé, Bob Ayers of Covington, GA; sister, Betty Brown of Jackson, MS; nephews, Randall Hand, Casey Hand and wife, Vicki of Shreveport; and niece, Lanelle Thompson and husband, Larry of Dallas, TX.

Pallbearers will be Tony Stampley, Tim Stampley and Dr. Russell McInnis, Ed Chase, Ed Todd, Randall Hand, Casey Hand, Larry Tompkins, Pat Craig, Jerry Thomas and Rick Parker.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to charity of donor's choice.
