Willie Howell, age 87, of Jonesville, SC, died Tuesday, August 10, 1982, in Wallace Thomson Hospital after a long illness.

A native of Union County, SC; son of the late Robert Lee Howell (1864–1919) and Sallie Meng Howell (1868–1958); husband of the late Bridgie McCullough Howell (1898–1969).

Retired farmer and carpenter, and a member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Callie Lucille Howell Clark (1916–2006) and Sara Ann Howell Farr (1933–2021); sons, William Thomas Howell (1915–2017), James Earl Howell (1920–2004), Howard Howell (1923–2016), Ned Erskine Howell (1925–2014), Charles Herman Howell (1927–2021), Billy Howell (1929–2022), Donald Hope Howell, Eugene Howell (1931–2005), Russell Kelley Howell (1938-2010); sisters, Grace Adams and Helen Sanders; 19 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Also predeceased by a son, Ervin Lee Howell (1918–1981).

Services were held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, at Mt. Joy Baptist Church by Rev. Lewis Hayes, Rev. Fred Murray, and Rev. Marvin Hembree; burial in the church cemetery.
