MRS. LENA A. EAST
ARCOLA — Mrs. Lena Agnes East, 79, of Charleston, formerly of Arcola, died at 1 a.m. Sunday in the Hilltop Nursing Home, Charleston.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Schrader Funeral Home, Arcola, with Rev. Bill Keffer and Rev. Noel Bray officiating. Burial is to be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. East was born Jan. 6, 1896 in Douglas County, the daughter of John and Serrepta Thompson Black. She married Jess Moyer in 1912. He died in 1924. She married Nelson East in 1928. He preceded her in death in 1954.
Survivors include four sons, Ralph Moyer and John East of Mattoon, Lowell East of Charleston and Bill East of Decatur; four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Riggle of Charleston, Mrs. Nathan Brown of Decatur, Mrs. Henry Jason of Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. James Greenway of Louisville, Ky.; a sister, Grace Warner of Arcola; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. East was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, six brothers and one sister. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
