Daniel Boone Marsh was a brother to George W. Lafayette "Fate" Marsh. Their parents were Daniel Marsh and Elizabeth Adeline Leach. Daniel was born around 1860 and George around 1855. George married Cynthia Charlotte Roe March 1, 1885. Cynthia's parents were Samuel Roe and Amanda C. Wood. Cynthia and George's children were
1. Oscar Lee 1886,
2. Effie Pearl 1891, &
3. Rodie Bertha Marsh 1897 ( my grandmother).

George died young as a result of pneumonia but on his death bed, he begged his brother to care for his wife and children. It has been said "Uncle Dan was the kindest, most gentle soul one could ever meet". He married Charlotte and they had 2 children,

1. James
2. Ira.

My grandmother married James Robert Kemp. They moved to Louisiana after the birth of their last child 1935. Uncle Dan and Charlotte followed. They lived the last few years of their lives beside and with my grandparents, and their grandchildren.

Thanks to family genealogist Mary Davis for valuable research and the photograph of Uncle Dan. Her great grandmother, Mary Ellen Marsh, was a sister to Daniel Boone Marsh and George W Lafayette "Fate" Marsh

Uncle Dan and Grandmother Charlotte are buried at the base of a large oak tree. The markers are gone but we plan on putting new ones up shortly.
