Astoria, IL - Dorothy R. Batterton, 84, of Astoria passed away at 6:25 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2006, at her childhood home near Summum.
Dorothy was born July 2, 1921 in Isabel Township, a daughter of Harry C. and Dorothy M. Barnes Graham. She married Russell F. Batterton on March 23, 1946, in Ipava.
Surviving are one daughter, Brenda (Conrad) Clark; one sister, Rose Anderson; and two grandsons.
She taught at both the Freeman and Cooper schools in South Fulton. She spent 38 years as a teacher, retiring in 1986.
Private family inurnment will be in Summum Cemetery at a later date.
