Dulce Faehnrich and Melvin Lommen Married
Charming in a gown of blue velvet with metallic trimming and carrying an arm bouquet of Johanna Hill roses, Miss Dulce Inez Faehnrich of Alexandria, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Faehnrich of Parkers Prairie, became the bride of Mr. Melvin Lommen, son of Mrs. Ole Lommen, of Alexandria Township.
The service was read at ten o'clock Sunday morning at the parsonage of the First English Lutheran church by the pastor Rev. C. E. Hansen. Miss Elma Lommen, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. Her gown was of plum color crepe and she wore a shoulder bouquet of Talisman roses. Mr. Malcolm Faehnrich, brother of the bride, was best man.
The groom wore an oxford grey suit and the best man wore dark blue.
A dinner at one o'clock was given at the bride's home for members of the immediate families with covers laid for forty-five.
The bride graduated from the Alexandria high school in 1927 and has been a deputy in the office of the county treasurer for the past five years. Mr. Lommen manages his mother's farm where the young couple will be at home after a wedding trip through northern Minnesota and Canada. Miss Charmaine Faehnrich and Richard Faehnrich of Fargo were out of town guests.

Dulce Lommen, age 88
Dulce F. Lommen was born January 15, 1909 at Wyndemere, North Dakota, the second of 12 children in the family of Louis and Ruth (Sargeant) Faehnrich. She was baptized in the Christian faith as an infant and confirmed by Rev. C. E. Hansen. Dulce attended school in Richland County, North Dakota and was a graduate of Alexandria High School.
Dulce was married to Melvin Lommen on October 6, 1935 at Alexandria. The couple resided on a farm in Alexandria township where they raised their two sons. In addition to caring for her family, Dulce worked as a bookkeeper and Deputy County Treasurer (Douglas County) for 13 years. She laster worked many years as a bookkeeper for the C. Al Michaelson Plumbing establishment. In 1985 Dulce and Melvin moved into Alexandria.
Dulce was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Nelson for over 50 years and was active in the work of the Lutheran Church of Nelson for over 50 years and was active in the work of the Lutheran Church Women. She had an artistic talent and enjoyed rosemaling and reading.
Dulce died at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria on May 22, 1997. She was 88 years of age. Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers: Guy William Faehnrich and Richard Faehnrich, and two sisters, Pauline Schultz and Sylvia Svebeck.
Dulce is survived by her husband, Melvin, of Alexandria; two sons: Jim and wife Barb Lommen of Montgomery Alabama, Guy and wife Susan Lommen of Deerwood, Minnesota; two brothers: Malcolm (Mix) and wife Dorothy Faehnrich of Alexandria, Maruice and wife Shirley Faehnrich of Alexandria; five sisters: Mavis Mullen of Alexandria, Iris Faehnrich of Alexandria, Charmaine Westad of Bertha, MN, Alice hanson of Parkers Prairie; Doris Haag of Staples; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Nelson on May 24, 1997 with Rev. Russ Osterberg officiating. Bev Steuck was the organist and Donna Eastman served as soloist.
Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery with Danny Hanson, Gerald Hanson, Rick Faehnrich, Adrian Lommen, Orrin Lommen and Paul Lommen acting as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were LaVerna Nelson, Francis Miller, Stella Hillesland, and Idelia Peterson.
Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
