YAKIMA - Vesta Paul, 100 years old, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 19, 1910 in Richland, OR to George and Rilla (Schultz) Simonis. Vesta lived in the Yakima Valley for 86 years. Her family moved to the Wapato area and raised dairy cattle. They were the first in the area to get an automatic milking machine. Vesta worked many years for J.J. Newberry as a clerk.
Vesta is survived by her son, George Paul of Twin Falls, ID; brother, Dan Simonis of Yakima; grandchildren, Scott, Lonnie, Melanie, Randall, Kenny and Jeffrey; numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, a sister and a son, Norval.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Keith & Keith 9th Ave Chapel. Private family interment was held at West Hills Memorial Park.
Arrangements are in the care of Keith & Keith Funeral Home.
