Derall Simonis

Derall George Simonis, 81, of Keyport died May 28, 2001, at home.

He was born Oct. 19, 1919, in Richland, Ore., to George and Rilla (Schultz) Simonis. He was educated in the Yakima Valley.

He married Ruth Adams on Feb. 9, 1939, in Tacoma. She died in 1989.

He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1950 until retiring as general foreman shipfitter in 1978.
He was a member of the Elks 1181 and Sons of Norway in Poulsbo.

Survivors include two sons, Ron of Keyport and Derall of Gresham, Ore.; a brother, Dan of Yakima; two sisters, Vesta Paul of Yakima and Leona Mefford of Rockport, Ill.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a son, Terry, and a grandson, Derall.

A celebration of his life will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the family home. Cremation is by Cherry Grove Crematory. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
