BALDWYN – Geraldine "Jerri" Garrett, 82, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a member of Baldwyn First Baptist Church. She graduated from Baldwyn High School in 1949. She married Sid Garrett on May 7, 1949. They lived a military life, retiring in 1971 in Lexington, S.C. She worked in retail. She had a passion for china and vases, and had an extensive collection of Gund and Lennox bears. She had a love for Charleston, S.C., being with family and friends, hiking the Smoky Mountains, and spending time with her niece, Jade Parker, who called her "Dean Dean." She loved her Lord and led a faithful Christian life that she expressed to all who would listen.

Services will be at 6 p.m. today at Kesler Funeral Home Chapel in Baldwyn with Bro. Keith Williams and Bro. Stanley Huddleston officiating. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery. Kesler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include one sister, Frieda Burleson of Baldwyn; and special nieces and nephews, Linda White, William Langston (Kay), Myra Emison, Scott Emison (Mallory), Kyle Emison (Jessica), Reed, Miles, Luke Emison, Bridgett Hendrix (Cody), Jade Parker, Aadyn Parker, Michael Miles, Brittany Miles and Lilly Hendrix.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sid Garrett; her parents, Alton and Raidie Miller; one brother, Robert A. Miller; five sisters, Jewell Morgan, Gladys Summers, Katie Jones, Cleo Miller and Fannie Mae Meadows.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until service time today.
