Charley was born in a small wood frame house on Rainey Street that was gravel road on the bank of the Colorado River near I-35 in downtown Austin. Charley said when he was very young he would hitch his little wagon to the back of the mule drawn wagons that would haul sand and gravel up and down Rainey St. Charley was the son of George Martin Sharp and Emma Adams. George his father died of pneumonia four months before Charley was born. Married 1934 first Sally Bernice Dixon. They had a daughter Charlotte Anne Sharp born 6 Oct 1934. Married again in 1939 Mary Louise Patton. They had seven children. Charles was a master plumber and in 1934 went to Pearl Harbor to help in the rebuilding. Charles started Sharp Plumbing Co. in Austin. He worked maintenance at the University of Texas. Charley loved his dogs,fishing,telling stories of earlier times and talking about politics.
