James S. "Sherm" Osburn, Jr., Age 86 of Fig Tree Lane, Plantation, FL, and Lakeview Drive DuBois, PA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 10th, 2013 on his way "home" to DuBois to be with his precious family after a 2 year battle with cancer.

Born on November 27, 1926 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late James Sherman & Sarah (Ikler) Osburn, Sr.

On September 5, 1954, he married Margaret S. (Snyder) Osburn. She survives.

He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. Sherm was very patriotic, wearing a United States Flag on his lapel daily.

He was a 1944 graduate of the DuBois Area High School.

In 1991, he retired as the owner/operator of Osburn Buick, Pontiac, & GMC in DuBois after a 42 year career in the automotive industry.
Sherm was a member of the DuBois Country Club, where he became an avid golfer after his retirement. He was a member of the Garfield Lodge # 559 Free and Accepted Masons. He was a 32nd degree mason, belonging to the Coudersport Consistory. He was a member of the James J. Patterson Post 813 Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a former member of the Lakeside United Methodist Church where is sang in the choir. He along with his wife, were very active in the First Baptist Church in Ft. Lauderdale. They had worked in the well-known Ft. Lauderdale Christmas Pageant for 22 years.

He is survived by 3 children (James S. Osburn, III and his wife Penny of Falls Creek, PA, Jeffrey S. Osburn and his wife Fran of Punxsutawney, PA and Lisa Wyant & Her husband Bill of DuBois, PA) 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and cousin (Ann Osburn Fletcher).
He was preceded in death by a sister (Kay Bridgeman) and a nephew (John Bridgman)

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 1023 from 2-4 &6-8 p.m. from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Robert Zilhaver officiating.

Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorials may be placed to Hahne Cancer Center, 100 Hospital Ave., and /or Lakeside united Methodist Church, 420 First St, both in DuBois, PA 15801, and/or the Charity of the donor's choice
