He was the child of Junia Sargent and Ida Mariah Dack and was born in Hurley, Turner, Dakota Territory (South Dakota did not become a state until 1889). When he grew up he became a dentist in Gettysburg, and even taught Dentistry at the University of Southern California. He was married to Jennie and they had a daughter named Marion. William Enoch, also known as Billy, was working in his dentist office in Gettysburg, South Dakota when he died before starting his afternoon patients. He was buried in Gettysburg Cemetery. His grave and his brother Jean Feni Sargent's graves are only three graves apart.
