NICHOLS - Herman Bennett Ford, 88, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Carolinas Hospital System in Marion. He was born in Horry County, a son of the late Daniel Roy and Eunice Jackson Ford.
Mr. Ford was predeceased in addition to his parents by his wife, Louise F. Ford; six brothers, Zarvis Ford, Reuben Asbury "Buck" Ford, Boyd Ford, Daniel Roy Ford Jr., John Luther "Luke" Ford, and Edgar Brooks Ford; and a sister, Bernice Nunnery.
He is survived by two sons, Ralph Watson (Nan) Ford of Columbia and George Eric (Melissa) Ford of Nichols; a sister, Sarah Connelly of Nichols; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013 in the chapel of Meares Funeral Home with burial to follow at Floyds Cemetery near Nichols.
