Passed away suddenly at his home in New Hamburg, on Monday, May 6, 2013. Ken was born 73 years ago in Wellesley Township and was the son of the late Simeon W. & Mary Ann (Roth) Jantzi.
Beloved husband of the late Marjorie (Gingerich) Jantzi who predeceased him September 3, 2011. Loving father of Pat & Paul Luckhart of Baden, Sheila Jantzi of Serpent River, Bob & Sherri Jantzi of Tavistock, Peggy Sue Haskell of Guelph. Special Grampa of Sam Luckhart & fiance Ara, Chris Luckhart, Jon Medina & friend Sheena, Rosie Medina, James Nesbit & friend Taylor, Phoebe & husband Dean Steckley, Jarris Jantzi & friend Amanda, Lacey Jantzi & friend Jamie, Cassidy Jantzi & friend Christina, Katie Haskell & friend Tyler, Alissa Haskell. Dear brother of Ruth & Allan (predeceased) Leis of Waterloo, Wesley Jantzi and friend Margo of Leamington, Louise & Ralph Gingerich of RR#1 St. Agatha. Bill and Lucille Jantzi of Petersburg, Sim Jantzi of Waterloo, Maryann & Ralph Steckley of Wellesley. Also remembered by sister-in-law Reta and Anson (predeceased) Bender of Baden, Ralph and Louise Gingerich of RR#1 St. Agatha. Predeceased by a grandson Nicholas Jantzi in infancy and a sister-in-law Gail Jantzi.
He was an active member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg. Ken and Marjorie were members of the Guys and Dolls Square Dancing Club for 40 plus years.
Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg Wednesday May 8, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. and again Thursday May 9, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The interment will be held on Friday May 10, 2013 at the 19th Line Mennonite Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Ken's life will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg. Pastor Jan Steckley and Pastor Kevin Peters Unrau officiating . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
