TOWER CITY - John J. "Jack" Buggy, 88, of 922 E. Colliery Avenue, died Sunday morning at his home.
Born in Williamstown, October 25, 1919 a son of the late John and Stella Updegrave Buggy.
He was a graduate of the former Williamstown Catholic High School.
Jack was a World War II Air Force Veteran, where he completed over 25 missions over Japan.
He was a retired supervisor with Alcoa, with over 30 years of service.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Tower City; Williamstown American Legion and the Williamstown V.F.W., he was a Judge of Elections for Tower City Borough and was a former board member of the Tower City Water Authority.
In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his daughter, Karen Y. Leiter, 1980, a great grandson, Michael Leiter II, 2006; 1 brother Eugene Buggy and a sister Marie Czarnecki.
Jack will be remembered for his love and devotion for his family. He will be deeply missed.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Alma Miller Buggy; 3 grandchildren, Jacqueline M. Harner and her husband Randy; Michael A. Leiter and his wife Christy and Timothy P. Leiter and his wife Natalie all of Tower City; 6 great grandchildren, Alexis and Timothy Harner, Brian, T.J., Brianna and Alayna Leiter. 2 brothers, Clair V. Buggy and his wife Ruth, Camp Hill and James R. Buggy and his wife Phyllis, Tower City; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 5th at 11 a.m. from his church with Rev. Michael Ahrensfield as celebrant. Burial with military honors will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing will be from 9:45 - 10:45 at the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc.
Memorial donations in his memory may be made to Pinnacle Health Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Drive, Harrisburg PA 17110.
