Mary "India" (Bagwell) Gill was born on January 23, 1862 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, the daughter of Nicholas Eubanks Bagwell and Elizabeth Caroline "Lizzie" Burney.
She was married about 1882 to William M "Will" Gill (1862-1925), the son of J M Gill and Elizabeth V Bagwell (ca 1837- ).
India died of TB on April 4, 1935 at her home on Rural Route 2, Clarksville and was buried the next day in Greenwood Cemetery.
