Roy E. Klinger (Curly) passed away peacefully at his home in Camp Hill on Thursday, May 2, 2013. Curly was born January 28, 1932 to the late Stanley and Katie (Romberger) Klinger in Klingerstown, PA. He graduated from Hegins High School and served in the Army in Germany. He retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot as an HVAC technician. Curly was predeceased by his wife Anzonetta Jane (Hoffner) Klinger and his son, Steven Klinger.
He is survived by his son Dan Klinger and his wife Trish of Camp Hill and their two sons, Andrew and Joseph. Curly was a devoted grandfather who enjoyed taking his grandkids to breakfast every week just to hear their stories. His greatest pleasure was bragging about his grandkids and his son's music to his brothers, sisters and friends. His surviving brothers and sisters are Bill Klinger, Donnie Klinger and Carol Troutman all of Klingerstown; Dean Klinger of Marbury MD; Ronnie Klinger of Palmyra; Dennis Klinger of Herndon; and Ruth Ann Sims of Lykens. He was preceded in death by his brothers Stanley Klinger, Randy Klinger, Glenn Klinger and his sister Marion Schreffler. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Curly held a private pilot's license and loved horses. He was a devoted horse race fan out at Penn National for years and will be missed by his friends at the track on Friday nights.
Services will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 509 Hummel Avenue in Lemoyne on Tuesday at 11am. There will be a private burial at Fort Indiantown Gap National cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Four Diamonds Fund at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Hospital, 600 Centerview Drive, PO Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033.
