Born in Klingerstown, on March 30 1930, he was a son of the late Stanley R. and Katie (Ramberger) Klinger. On August 28, 1954, he married the former Viola C. Dockey, who survives.
He was a 1948 graduate of the former Hegins Township High School.
He was a Veteran of the Korean War, having served in the US Marine Corps.
Stanley retired in 1992 as a meat cutter from Troutman Brothers, Inc. at Klingerstown.
He was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church at Klingerstown, the Klingerstown and Gratz Fire Companies, the Erdman's Sportsman Association, and the Moose Lodge of Millersburg, and a former member of the Klingerstown Fire Police.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Dale and Carol Klinger of Gratz and David Klinger of Lykens; 3 grandchildren: Chad Kissinger, Adam Klinger, and Ashlee Deibert, 3 great granddaughters: Kayla Kissinger and Lindsey and Emily Deibert; three sisters: Marian Schreffler of Elizabethville, Ruth Ann Sims of Lykens, and Carol Troutman of Klingerstown; six brothers: Roy of Camp Hill, William and Don, both of Klingerstown, Dean of Marbury, MD, Dennis of Herndon, and Ronald of Palmyra; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Randall in 1961 and Glenn in 1991.
Friends and relatives may call from 1 to 2 PM, Saturday, September 19, 2009 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church at Klingerstown, followed by a memorial service at 2 PM with the Rev. Jan Mills officiating. Burial in St. Michael's Lutheran Cemetery, Klingerstown.
